What is this software?

Using your USB sync cable, you can "tether" your Treo smartphone to a Windows computer, and use the smartphone as a modem. This lets you check email and surf the web on your laptop. You can also use Virtual Private Network (VPN) software to access directories behind your corporate firewall, and run other applications that require a network connection. With Palm Tether, you can do this anywhere your Treo can connect to the wireless data network.

What does it do?

Palm Tether is the application you install on your Windows laptop that enables USB Dial Up Networking. This software walks you through the steps to set up the connection. At the end, you'll be able to click a shortcut on your Windows desktop to start the connection.

Which networks are supported?

The Palm Tether software is designed for Treo 755p and Treo 700p smartphones on these networks:

  • Alltel
  • Bell
  • Cellular South
  • Telus

This software is not for these networks:

This software is for Windows only. If you have a Mac laptop, we suggest using Bluetooth Dial Up Networking for Mac.
