My device won't turn on

If your device will not turn on, try these steps. When your device turns on, stop (there is no need to continue the procedure).

  1. Connect your device to the AC charger with the USB cable and plug the AC charger directly into a wall outlet. Note that when the battery charge falls to less than 5%, the phone shuts off. When it is plugged into a charger, the low-battery screen appears until the battery has enough charge to start the phone, typically 5–15 minutes.
  2. Press power .
  3. Press and hold power .
  4. Press and hold power , and slide the ringer switch three times to restart your device.
  5. If the device has a removable battery, remove and reinsert the battery, and then press and hold power . See Replacing the battery on a Pre phone or Replacing the battery on a Pixi phone . The HP Veer does not have a removable battery.
  6. If you’re not sure how much charge your battery has, charge your device for a least 20 minutes using the AC charger plugged directly into a wall outlet. Then repeat steps 2 to 4.
