This article helps you synchronize pictures, videos,
and music between iTunes on your computer and your webOS phone
using media sync.
You can also open the following types of files in an application
that supports the file type:
-
Photos (JPEG, BMP, PNG)
-
Videos (MPEG4, H.263, H.264, MP4, M4V, 3GP, 3GPP, 3G2, 3GP2)
-
Music and podcasts (MP3, AAC, AAC+, AMR, QCELP, WAV)
Note Media sync transfers both protected (DRM) and unprotected
media files from iTunes to your phone. However, your phone can only
play unprotected media files. Even though the protected (DRM) files do
not play back on the phone, the protected files still take up space
in your phone's memory.
When your phone is in Media Sync mode, you can’t make or receive
calls or use other wireless features such as email or the web.
Before you begin Make sure you have iTunes version 9.0.1 or
earlier on your computer.
-
Confirm that media sync is enabled:
-
Open Device Info
.
-
Open the application menu and tap Enable
Media Sync.
Note If you see a Disable Media Sync option instead of an Enable
Media Sync option, media sync is already enabled.
-
Connect your phone to your computer with the USB cable.
-
On your phone, tap Media Sync.
-
The first time you use Media Sync mode, an alert warns you
that you cannot make or receive calls or text messages. Tap OK.
-
Your phone is now in Media Sync mode.
-
On your computer, iTunes opens automatically.
Note You can synchronize supported music, videos, TV shows, podcasts,
and pictures, but you cannot sync iTunes contacts, calendar events,
or games.
-
Follow the steps in iTunes to synchronize files to your phone.
Visit Apple’s website to learn how to sync:
Disconnect the USB cable from the computer when it is safe
to do so.
-
On your phone, open the Photos, Videos, or Music application
to access the files you copied. Each application automatically looks
for supported file types and displays them in the list of files. If
you’re unable to open a supported file type on your phone, it does
not have the proper encoding, and you must open the file on your
computer.
