Calendar

Option + tap an event: Deletes the event. You can delete a series of recurring events, or delete a single event.

Go back to the current Calendar day: In Day view, tap the Day view icon. Or, in the application menu, tap Jump To and tap Go To Today.

Peek at your schedule without changing the current view: In Day or Week view, slightly drag left or right to peek at the next/previous day or week.

Find an event location on a map: Open an event that has an address specified in the Event Location field, open the application menu, and tap Event Location. Tap either Show on Map, which shows the location on Google Maps, or Get Directions, which gives directions from your current location.

Make a call from a Calendar event: If a phone number is displayed in an event note as an underlined link, tap the number to make a call. This displays the phone dial pad with the number already entered.

Camera/photos/media

Option + Sym + P: Takes a screenshot of the information on the screen. The screenshot is saved to the Screen captures album.

Set camera flash: The camera is set to automatically determine if the flash is needed. If you want to change the flash setting, tap to keep the flash on, and tap again to keep the flash off.

Take rapid-fire photos: Press and hold Space to take pictures in continuous burst mode. Release Space to stop taking pictures.

Upload photos to your picture web service account: Tap a picture thumbnail to view it full-screen. Tap and tap Upload. (If is not visible, tap the screen to display it.) Tap the name of the account to upload the photo.

Facebook

The Palm Facebook app allows you to update your status, view and respond to friends’ comments, and attach a photo to your status. Before you begin, download the Facebook app from App Catalog.

Update your Facebook status: Type a message in the What’s on your mind field.

Add a photo to your Facebook post: Type a comment, tap Attach, choose a photo or take a new one, tap Attach Photo, and then tap Share.

Comment on a Facebook post: Add a comment to a post: Tap , tap (optional), type your comment, and then tap .

Card view/Launcher/apps

About the Launcher: The Launcher displays all your applications that are not on Quick Launch. The Launcher includes multiple pages, which you can organize to group apps the way you want.

Add a contact to the Launcher: Open Contacts. Tap the contact name, then open the application menu and tap Add to Launcher. The contact’s picture becomes an icon in the Launcher. (If the contact does not have a picture, a placeholder icon appears in the Launcher instead.)

Find a contact from the Launcher: Begin typing the search term or keyword. As you type, search displays any contact names that match the character. As you continue typing, the search results narrow.

Delete an app from the Launcher: Open the application menu and tap List Apps. On the list of applications, tap and hold an app name or throw the app off the side of the screen, and then tap Delete.

About Card view: Card view displays open applications as small cards, so that you can easily scroll through them and drag them to change their order.

To maximize a card: Tap the card, or tap anywhere on the screen around the cards.

To minimize a card: Tap the center of the gesture area or flick down from the screen to the gesture area.

Move among apps without going to Card view: Open Screen & Lock, then set Switch Applications to On. To go from full-screen view to full-screen view of each app, swipe from left to right across the entire length of the gesture area, or swipe from right to left across the entire length of the gesture area.

Email/Contacts/messaging

Option + tap an image: Save an inline image from an email. Select an option:

  • Share Image sends an email with subject “Check out this picture...” and the file attachment.
  • Copy to Photos saves the photo on the phone’s USB Drive.

Add a photo to a contact: To add or change the photo in the default account, tap . Tap the album containing the picture you’d like to assign to the contact, locate the picture you’d like to use, and tap the picture.

Assign a speed dial to a contact: Tap a contact. Open the application menu and tap Set Speed Dial. Tap a key to use as a speed dial. To remove a speed dial from a contact, tap the contact and then tap Remove Speed Dial from the application menu.

Add a ringtone to a contact: Open a contact, tap Edit, and then tap Set a ringtone. Tap the ringtone name to select it and tap Done. To use a music file as a ringtone, tap and then tap the file name of the MP3 song.

Set your phone to vibrate when email arrives: Open Email , then open the application menu and tap Preferences & Accounts. Tap the email account name, and set Vibrate to On.

Send a text message to more than one contact: Tap then tap to open your full contact list. Tap the first contact you want. Tap , then tap the next contact, and so on. Type your message, then tap .

Quick Launch

About Quick Launch: Quick Launch can display no more than five icons. By default it displays Phone, Contacts, Email, Calendar, and the Launcher. You can change the order of icons (except the Launcher icon) in Quick Launch, or swap in whatever applications you like.

Customize Quick Launch icons: In the Launcher, tap and hold the Quick Launch icon; after the halo appears around the icon drag it onto the Launcher. Tap an icon in the Launcher, and after the halo appears around the icon, drag the icon onto the Quick Launch bar.

Display Quick Launch when an app fills the screen: Drag up slowly from the gesture area; move your finger to an application icon. When you see the app name appear, lift your finger to open the application.

Web

Option + tap an image: Saves the image from the web page. Select an option:

  • Share Image sends an email with subject “Check out this picture...” and the file attachment.
  • Copy to Photos saves the photo on the phone’s USB Drive.

Option + tap a link: Select an option:

  • Share Link sends an email with subject “Check out this link...”
  • Copy URL copies the link to the clipboard.
  • Open in New Card opens the link in a new card without closing the web page you’re currently viewing.

Add a Bookmark: Tap the application menu and tap Add Bookmark.

Edit a Bookmark: Tap the application menu and tap Bookmarks. Tap to the right of the bookmark and do any of the following:

  • To set a new thumbnail icon, tap, hold, and drag the web page until the portion that you want to use as the icon appears in the white square that appears over the web page. Tap Done.
  • Throw the bookmark off the side of the screen and tap Delete.
